Obscene Gestures Dance Team was founded on December 18, 2010 by Latefia Bradley. Even though that is the official founded date Obscene Gestures did exist before then. Latefia Bradley originally choreographed forAmphitheater High School’s dance team in Tucson, AZ but after several disagreements with the sponsor she decided to resign from her job. Several members from the team were unhappy with the sponsor and also decided to remove themselves from the team. Eventually they all came together to form Obscene Gestures! Dance Team.

The team soon faced a lot of issues with rehearsal space and getting the support from the community. They were determined to show people that they could make it no matter how hard it might seem and they decided if people try to get in their way from succeeding they would ”use obscene gestures”. What this meant to them was they would not get mad or fight, they would just dance harder. Due to financial issues the team had to break up but Latefia was still determined to bring the team back together again.

So, on December 18, 2010 she hosted the first set of auditions. She now had a better structure and plan on how to make the team sustainable and affordable for those who were less fortunate. Obscene Gestures Dance Team is now continuously growing in members and recognition throughout Tucson and will continue to grow for years to come.

What Does OG do?

• OG Dance Team is now performing in the Tuscon area
• OG is always adding new members to the team.
• OG specializes in working together as a family where we treat everyone as equals.
• OG holds tryouts to give anyone a chance who is interested in the team to become a part of OG.
• OG also holds workshops in which people of all ages are welcome to attend and dance with the Team and watch us perform!
